Meet Karen P. Moore, also known as DJ YBNVS. The decision to become a DJ was like second-nature to her. Karen began her musical career singing in the church choir as a young tot. Growing up, she would bang away at the piano, beat up on the drums, hold a mean tune on the saxophone and become a first-chair cellist. Karen would listen to every genre of music; from EDM to Hip-Hop to Jazz to Reggaeton. Her love for music expands beyond any box that anyone attempts to place her in.
Karen served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps. This was where she started playing around with DJ’ing. She would DJ at the parties hosted at the barracks. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Corps, she realized just how much of the camaraderie she missed. Always being one not afraid to go against the grain, she would later join the Air Force Reserves as an Aircraft Electrician. Today, she continues to proudly serve as a member of aircrew in the position of Loadmaster, and is the first African-American female Hurricane Hunter. She has always been humble and while others would gloat, she would ask, why be envious?
DJ YBNVS enjoys helping others. She gives back by volunteering at many events in and around, not just her local community, but the community of the MS Gulf Coast where she serves in the military. DJ YBNVS looks forward to helping make your event memorable.
